With a relationship already formed after redesigning the Neom Organics website, I was charged with improving their checkout in a 2-week sprint before black Friday 2018.

The aim was simple; Neom was getting more traffic, but conversion had gone stale, the rate of conversion needed to improve. With very little time, I dove straight into analytics and looked at what data we could gather in Hotjar in a short amount of time.

With minimal research complete, I ran a discovery session with the client to discuss possible solutions. We wireframed our ideas together through various exercises before deciding multiple routes.

Back at the office, I documented all that had been discussed and proposed. With high fidelity designs in hand, we chose with our gut the best option as A/B testing wasn't available due to time pressures.

There were many ways we could go in improving the checkout. To find the real winner, I designed many versions, and all were variant tested to see the pros and cons of each.

We even went as far as producing specific mobile versions to see if desktop and mobile needed more or less information.

Gifts and samples

As well as improving the checkout, we also introduced new features which involved gifting and samples—a difficult challenge for an already busy default Magento checkout.

Neom Organics - Workshop

A one day workshop

With three studio team members and five stakeholders, I workshopped multiple group activities. With time short, the aim was to get as much information and opinion as possible so that I could work on the designs back at the office.

First, we arranged wrote on post-its and created channels for "What is the user looking to achieve on your website?", "How would or should they achieve the above?" , "What's the final goal/conversion for this user?" and with this information, we also created some quick wireframes on paper.
